We can deliver a diverse and exciting range of outdoor activities and programmes from either our 250 acre woodland site in Churchill, our green-field multi-activity site in Hewish or from any number of great locations across the Mendip Hills and beyond. Alternatively we can pack our kit up and come to you or your venue! Whatever it takes to deliver a programme that suits you.
We have our own, private 50 acre rock sport quarry with a 150 foot abseil and climbs to challenge all abilities. We also have a climbing tower, a permanent archery and rifle shooting range, a dry slope for skiing and snowboarding, a camping area, several bushcraft sites and exclusive orienteering courses. Our land is the perfect terrain for team building and initiative exercises.
Our other green-field multi-activity site in Hewish has exclusive river access for canoeing, kayaking and raft building and a permanent assault course with two parallel lanes of challenging obstacles including daring river crossings.
We are entrusted with access to the best natural resources across the Mendips for rock and water sports and have a regional network of bases and accommodation across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and South Wales for residential or other specialist activities.
Our instructors are the best in the industry, are fully qualified, experienced and enthusiastic. They are all CRB checked, first aid trained and passionate about what they do.
We are one of the biggest and most respected outdoor activity providers in the South West, backed by the Activities Industry Mutual (£5million PL and £10million EL) and inspected and approved by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and the institute for Outdoor Learning. We are proud of our quality badge for Learning Outside the Classroom and approved by the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. All our PCV registered minibuses have high backed, front facing seats, with three point seatbelts. Each bus is checked daily and by a certified mechanic every 10 weeks.
All our outdoor activities require teamwork and co-operation. We can provide innovative, exciting and challenging sessions to unite any team. Our instructors will ensure participants recognise and appreciate the inherent transferable skills they have developed.
Many of our activities and events are specifically designed to help demonstrate the different elements of effective teamwork. By allowing participants to learn through active experimentation and hands-on challenges, we can help highlight how similar skills and behaviours can be successfully translated to the workplace. In addition to the activities themselves, our trained facilitators will also help develop this awareness with informal group discussions and reviews.
Team Development events can be arranged to meet your specific objectives which could include:
- Improve the understanding of team roles and their relevance to the working environment.
- Development of communication and its relevance to effective team work and efficiency
- Understanding individual motivations and their consequence on team dynamics and synergy.
Whatever your objective, we can tailor events to your timetable to suit the needs of small or large groups. We can also arrange accommodation and meals to your budget.
Fun days out can have elements of team development as a foundation but the key motivation for the day will be an enjoyable time. Participants can have a go at outdoor activities they may not have tried before, or do something they've not had a chance to do in many years. Events can focus on one activity for a day or half-day, or can include a mix of activities within a challenge event allowing teams to compete against each other.
Whatever the occasion we can add an extra element of excitement and fun in the outdoors to refresh, energise and motivate your delegates.
Combining an outdoor activity or team building challenge with a conference is a great way to make it a fun and memorable occasion for those attending. We can provide activities before, after or during a day or weekend's conference, to provide a break from the real work. We can also help you arrange conference facilities, food and accommodation for small team meetings or large company seminars, lunches and annual events.
We also have the flexibility to provide activities based from your own conference facilities; either running sessions from the grounds of your chosen venue, or providing transport to local sites for rock or water sports.
