    Campsite Supervisor

Looking for a team of three people to live on site at Mendip Outdoor Pursuits this summer and look after our tented village. £26,000 pro-rata each

    Background

Mendip's team, supervise, teach and lead individuals and groups in the outdoors whilst ensuring their safety. They work in a range of locations with a variety of clients who have differing expectations and skills.

The camp supervisor is the point person for a customer while staying in one of our two tented villages. The Camp Supervisor team will meet and greet the customer, supervise settling into the camp and explaining the week's programme. The team will ensure they are available to deal with issues, answer questions, and ensure people know what's happening each day.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

This is a great opportunity for three people to spend this summer living on site at Mendip's 250 acre activity centre in the heart of the Mendip Hills. You'll help look after our two campsites and be on call overnight to help ensure our groups have a great experience whilst staying with us for their summer activity camp.

Each week will see a new group of up to 80 people arriving in the camp. You will need a practical, positive, 'can do' attitude and must be confident speaking to large groups. The groups will be doing activities off site most of the day but whilst they are at the camp you will be their main point of contact. Full hands on training will be provided.

This would be a great experience and an excellent introduction to a career in the outdoors. If you are thinking of applying to Mendip's Trainee Instructor Scheme this would be a big advantage. There will be some opportunities to get experience in various outdoor sports and to shadow experienced instructors.

Under the direction of the Estate Team, you will be required to look after and help maintain Mendip's tented villages and shower blocks for the groups. The role will involve general maintenance and cleaning of the campsite and facilities. You will also be working closely with the catering team to ensure food is transported and served to the groups at the scheduled times.
As part of the role, you will be required to be 'available for work' overnight and you will be the first point of contact for the group leaders and support staff. You'll need to resolve any issues you can yourself or liaise with our team to find a solution.

This is a live-in role and you will be required to be at the Residential Campsite throughout our group visits. Basic canvas living accommodation and meals will be provided. If you have your own caravan or tent (and we can transport this safely and easily) you may bring this as your own accommodation at your own risk.

NOTE: This is a seasonal role that will run from 21st June 2018 to 16th August 2018. One of the roles will finish one week earlier than these dates. We require three people for the role and may be perfect for a group of friends; however, this is not essential.

    Day-to-Day Responsibilities

    Day time

    - You will be one of three campsite supervisors and will front the camp as the host and point of contact for any issues, as they arise. You will be supported in this role by the Estate Team and Catering Team.
    - Welcome and introduce guests as they arrive, assisting with transporting baggage to the tented village.
    - Introduction to the camp and setting expectations as well as emergency procedures.
    - Enabling and helping with service of food for breakfast and dinner, as well as ensuring all customers are awake, fed and prepared for the upcoming activities.
    - To assist and organise the cleaning of the site, ensuring and guiding customers to take responsibility for the cleaning of the facilities that we provide for them.
    - Cleaning and general maintenance of the Shower Block and camp site.
    - Ensuring a deep clean is completed at the end of the week for both the Shower Block and Campsites.
    - The completion of any and all paperwork as and when required.

    Night time

    - To be available and on-site during your available for work time slot.
